So Cal Track Club


The So Cal Track Club is a (501C3) non-profit association track club which brings together athletes of all ages who pursue excellence as individuals and team members.
Under the direction of coach Mark Cleary, SO CAL has helped its members achieve their goals since 1997 by providing guidance, support, training expertise and team spirit to make track and field fun and rewarding for athletes of all ages.
SO CAL currently consists of over 90 members ranging from beginners to elite athletes. New members are always welcome.

Career Highlights: 2001 World Indoor silver medalist; 2nd at 2000& 2001 USA Indoors; 2nd at NCAA Indoors in 1997; 3rd at Big Ten Outdoors in 1998 & 1995.
Harvey was the top-ranked high school vaulter in the country in 1993 with a best of 17-1, but he was relatively little-known until he finished second at the 2000 U.S. Indoor championships. His true coming-out party was during the 2001 indoor season, when he pushed Lawrence Johnson to a then-American Record at the GMC Envoy USA Indoor Championships (clearing a PR 5.93m/19-5.5), then took the silver medal behind Johnson at the World Indoor Championships. A leg injury suffered at World Indoors slowed his training for the outdoor season in 2001, but Harvey hopes for a strong outdoor showing in 2002. was a 1997 All-Big Ten selection after winning the conference pole vault title with a clearance of 18-1.25...earned All-American honors that year after posting a Minnesota school record 18-2.5 vault and placing second at the NCAA Indoor Championships...could not compete at either the Big Ten Outdoor Championships or NCAA Outdoor Championships because of an automobile accident that resulted in a broken wrist...design communications major while at Minnesota.
